My bake element works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. Any ideas?
Elements don’t go out gradually; so the problem is more likely to be the thermostat (that’s the switch the control knob activates). It could also be as simple as a loose wire; but you would very likely see and/or hear sparking, or trip a breaker. You’re dealing with an appliance that operates on (a lethal) 240VAC. If you don’t feel confident in working around this level of voltage, it would be best to call in a pro.
