Pull the heating element out, disconnect the wires from the heating element and check for 120 VAC between each wire and ground. Post the results.

quick question, you said to pull the heating element out this is the lower element i just replaced ? because when i pulled it out there is only one red wire connected to each end of the heating element i did not see any ground wire i assume that would be green?. or will the oven need to be taken out of the wall cabinet to find the ground wire?
what instrument would i use to check for 120 VAC (what does VAC mean) novice at this but can learn and on a very tight budget and need oven to make xmas dinner, appreciate your help and patience

- Yes.
- "ground" means any metal part (not painted) of the oven body. The whole oven must be connected to ground at the power outlet or junction box.
- You have to have a simple multimeter with ability to measure resistance and power. Read about meters in the article on our forum:How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter
- VAC stands for "Volts of alternating current".
