Replaced lid switch. Now will not rinse. Washes- drains- spins. cold/cold doesn’t work, hot-warm/cold are only cold.
So, rinse was fine before replacing lid switch? By no rinse, you mean it won’t fill on rinse? Your symptoms don’t make sense. Rinse is cold water only so if cold water isn’t working, you wouldn’t get cold water in wash cycle when set for hot or warm. Make sure water supply hoses are connected correctly and that you have hot and cold water (run each hose directly into tub to check).

Yes very strange. What prompted the switch was that I ran a load and it stopped on the first cycle, it filled-agitated then would not drain or spin, moving the timer pasted rinse to spin didn’t work, so new switch. Now it fills and agitates will drain and spin but it stops on the first cycle. Moving the timer to last spin it will spin no rinse. Also the hoses are correct and the water is hot at spout, cold/cold doesn’t work but all other setting do, warn-hot but water is cold.
Well, it makes no sense. I’d say you have a bad cold water valve solenoid since rinse is cold only and you say cold/cold doesn’t work but if that is the case, where are you getting cold water when you’ve selected warm or hot??? This washer does not have an electronic auto temp control, it’s a simple manual mechanical switch. Swap the water valve solenoid valve connectors and try rinse cycle again. If you get water, your inlet valve is bad.

Yes, interesting to out fox the machine. I turned the hot water spigot off as it wasn’t doing anything { has a small intermittent drip changed the washer but still drips, it is old, I’m going to replace with braided ones}and the situation is the same, the water selector works every where but on the cold/cold. Nothing got disconnected and had hot/warn water before when I replaced the lid switch so I 'm thinking it is the solenoid.
Thanks so much for the input, I founded and ran a shop for 30 years that I sold in 07 to a former employee, I was always welling to participate with my customers and detail the job and supply first quality A-1 materials also that they needed to do the work, 98 percent after a clear explanation of what was required told me to do the work, of the other 2 percent more than half return to do the same.
Most people ignore Newton’s third law of motion, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, what you put out comes back to you, in the scriptures seven fold.
