Roper Washer spins only

When I turn the knob, the washer will not fill with water. But when I put knob on spin cycle, it spins. Do I need a timer, or is there something else wrong? It spins only.:frowning:

The washer does not agitate because there is no water.

Check the water source first. Then check for continuity the coils on the water inlet valve (#18 on the controls and rear panel break down diagram).

If any of the coil is open, replace the water inlet valve.

If there is nothing wrong, check for 120V coming to each coils when the timer calls for water.

If there is proper power, then possible the screens inside the water valve are clogged. In such case it’s better to replace the water inlet valve then clean the screens.

If there is no power - replace the timer.

  • The part number for the water inlet valve is AP3094541

  • The part number for the timer is AP3037984
