Hi! My washer fills and then agitates but won’t move on through the cycle. I have to push the button in and advance it through each step of the cycle. (Does the same thru spinning too…would spin forever if I didn’t manually move it.). I replaced the lid switch with hopes that it was the problem, but it didn’t solve it. As a single mom of two boys, I can’t afford to get a repairman to fix it and the laundromat is sooooo expensive, so I’m hoping someone might be able to help me thru a self-repair. 
Sounds like a faulty timer, assuming timer motor has power to it. Timer can be returned if it doesn’t fix the problem.
