Samsung Freezer Defrost Problem - Fidge Won't Go Into Diagnose Mode

We have a samsung RS2555SW that is one of the dual cooling units (the fridge and freezer both have coils and are independent of one another). The refrigerator side works fine and has no problems maintaining temperature and defrosting when necessary. The freezer side has a defrost problem and ices up, then the front panel blinks on the freezer side (indicating that the temperature is too warm). I have searched all over the internet and have so far not been able to find helpful information for putting this particular model in diagnose mode (when it will highlight bars to indicate the issue) and have not been able to find any kind of help as to what the "problem part" might be.

My mother in law has a samsung that is several years newer that had a similar problem in the fridge, and the fridge told us what part it was in diagnose mode. It ended up being the heater that you can only get as included with the interior coils, but we were able to extricate this heater from both the existing fridge and the new set and "engineer" the new heater back onto the existing coils (not standard procedure, samsung wants a repair guy to come out and remove freon, solder in new coils with included heater, and refill with freon, alot of bogus to me). It now works like a champ. I was able to find all this info on her fridge pretty readily online.

With my fridge, however, I can’t seem to find anything that would help me determine whether the problem is a thermistor, the heater, the board, or some other part.

Any help would be appreciated!
