Model# RS257BARB - I am having a similar issue with the fresh food side frosting up. However, the defrost heater checks at 99ohms and the thermal fuse has continuity. Could the control board be to blame at this point or am I missing something? TIA
I’m not sure about what resistance values are good for the various components in this fridge. But considering we have the same model and I’ve had to replace the heating element twice, it could very well be the culprit in your case. The first time I replaced it, I cut open the heating element and found it had completely corroded near the connector (hidden behind the shrink wrap tubing).
There really should be some sort of recall of class action concerning this… I know I’ll never buy a Samsung appliance again.
