the machine fills with water and agitates but does not make it to the next rinse cycle unless i manyally move the knob to the rinse cycle
Since you did not post a model number I can only give you the generic answer which is to replace the timer.
My dryer runs fine except for heat. Gas dryer. Worked fine on one load then didnt work for the next.
