Timer and Knob Replacement For GE Top Load Washer

I changed the timer on a 2 year old GE top load washer. I also also ordered a new knob but they sent me a knob with a "D" shape for the timer shaft but the old knob, which is cracked, has teeth on it to engage the teeth around the timer shaft. The old knob has a groove in it and there is also a groove around the timer shaft. I suppose they line up and possibly some sort of clip keeps the knob tight on the shaft so it will stay on when you pull up on the knob to start machine. I can’t find any info on a clip for the knob. Any help would be appreciated.

Here are your parts

You did not say where you purchased the parts.

If you look in Section 4 the timer looks like the knob screws on.
If you click on the parts picture a new page will open with more views of that part. Click on these pictures to expand them.

Thanks for the reply. I got my wires crossed on this one. The correct model is WBSR3140G0WW. I looked up the correct model and found the spring clip I needed.
