Timer control knob came out: what to do?

The timer control knob of my GE wisher (model: WHDSR315DAWW) came out recently. The metal shaft is still attached to the knob. When I put in the knob, I could still make selections. However, when I pull the knob to start the washer, the knob simply came out. The timer itself is probably fine, but the problem is most likely the connection between the knob and the timer. But I don’t know how to make the knob stay with the timer.

Does this mean that some clips or teeth are broken? How to fix this? If I need to get a replacement part, what should I order?
