The timer makes a buzzing noise. I think the timer motor is about to fail. How do I remove the timer? If I can get it out maybe I can replace the timer motor and save a bunch of bucks.
Thanks
Paul

Can you post your model number, thanks
The model number is GLWS1649AS1. I didn’t know the number when I posted the question last night.
Ok, to remove the timer you will take off the back panel, disconnect the timer wire harness, take off the knob and piece under it and you will find two screws holding the timer. Take these out and your timer is removed.
Here is the parts list for your model.

I do not see where the timer motor is a separate part, but call the nice folks at Appliance Parts Pro and talk with them. Even if you have to replace the entire timer you will still save beaucoup bucks from a service call.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.
It may be you have a slightly different type of timer, in which case there is one screw and a locking tab. Either way, you should do fine.
OK…thanks. But…how do I get the knob off? I can get the center piece off…but nothing else. There has to be some "trick" to getting the knob off and I can’t figure it out…help! Thanks Paul
