Hey, after doing some researching and reading online I think the touch pad is going out on our Spacemaker 1800XL. Some of the buttons dont like to work from time to time and if it sits unused for more than a minute or two it starts beeping and showing the -F3- error.
I removed the control board assembly from the microwave then removed the circuit board. How do I get to the touch pad? The metal piece that seems to be sandwiching the touch pad in doesn’t feel like it wants to come off.
Also I tried putting in the model number on the search engines and it never pulled up the correct one. I am sure the model number listed on the sticker in the cooking area says: JMV1840BD 002. It also has a serial number and a manufacture date of may 2002.
Any help getting the touch pad off and correct one ordered would be greatly appreciated.
