Can someone please provide assistance,
Issue:
1 month ago after the self-cleaning feature was used, the oven failed to heat up properly, then not at all. I have since replaced the oven bake ignitor and the temp sensor (easy fixes). Oven still not working; convect feature is very slow to heat and still doesn’t reach final temp. Code has been F1.4.
Action Item:
Is it now time to replace the famous "touch pad," a/k/a "ERC" (see photo of part)? Is it worth the expense as the range is 5 years old and part is out of warranty? I called Maytag and they recommended having their factory authorized repairman diagnose the problem for $130. If that part is bad, Maytag would send me a new one free (to the repairman of course), and I would still have to pay his fee to install.
Or, should I attempt to repair this myself after ordering the pictured part? Has anyone made this repair and is it easy? Any pitfalls, etc…? I have since learned that a company online can fix these touch pads for about $100 including shipping w/a 2yr warranty.
Feedback is appreciated FAST!
Thanks,
