Hey Guys Trying to troubleshoot a problem. Have a Maytag MAVT236AWW. It will not agitate on regular cycle but will on others. When it agitates though it makes a rattling noise from the mechanisim on bottom of drum. Thinking it may be on it’s last legs. Any thoughts?

Would the motor run?
Would it make any noise at all?
Tilt the washer back and remove the belt. Check how freely the pump pulley is moving in both directions. Post the results.
