washer not spinning

I am trying to fix my GE washer that wont work in the spin cycle. It agitates and drains, but wont spin. It worked fine the previous 3 loads. HELP! Changed out the Lid Switch because thats what all the sites said to do first…yeah, didnt help any, still wont spin. What next? Thanks Christine

Hi.

Using the potty knife remove the front panel (two clips on the top).
Remove the belt.
Turn the washer to "spin" and check if the motor is running?
If it’s running, then most likely the transmission bad.
If not - you will need to test timer and motor.
