Washer stuck on high spin through every cycle

Please help save my washer! And me :slight_smile:
This washer is a Maytag Atlantis and a great washer. All of the washer’s settings and cycles work. The issue is when the washer begins washing so does the spinning. There is constant high spinning through every cycle. The agitator works, but the tub spins at the same time just taking the clothes in big circles.

I have looked at some things regarding the brake. But i have only seen one other post online with a similar issue so I am still on the fence about it.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It does sound like your brakes are not engaging, and that may be an easy fix. But be very careful and the brakes on these models have a strong spring and you need a special brake tool to work on it. If you are the least bit uncomfortable doing this repair get a pro.
