I’m guessing on the age of my machine. It stopped spinning so I took it apart to see if the belt fell off or something. By the time I was done the belt really did fall off and now I can’t get it back together. (sigh) Any help would be appreciated.
Where did you find the belt in this washer? This is a direct drive model and it does not have any belts by design.
So what is going on and in what condition is your washer now?

i’ve got a ge stackable washer and dryer. we bought it used, and in moving it into our apartment i broke the post on the dryer timer. i replaced the timer, and in doing so, broke the resister on the timer. i replaced the resister, but now, as soon as i press the start button, the breaker trips. it’s a gas dryer, so it shouldn’t require more than a 20 amp breaker, right? i know the breaker is okay, because there is a hot-water heater plugged into it that runs fine. i unplugged the hot-water heater and tried the dryer again with the same result. is there something i could have done while replacing the timer or resister that would cause this to happen? should i just give up and call someone?
It is possible that you miswired the timer. If there is a scematic on the washer, you need to check the wiring on the timer. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com
