Washing machine will not fill with water

[SIZE=4][FONT=Times New Roman]I have a stackable Maytag set. Today on my last load the machine became unbalanced. I redistributed the load, it finished the cycle and shut off. Now the machine will not fill with water, I can turn the dial to the spin cycle and the machine will spin ~ but will NOT fill with water. That tells me that the motor is ok and I checked the fuse and that is ok. Any suggestions on what I can check or what the problem could be?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Well, before spending money on parts lets see if it is something simple.

Check all the wiring, something may have come loose during the shaking. Also check the connections to the water levels switch and the tubing.

All the connections seem connected fine. No loose wires or anything… Sales person at Home Depot sold me the wrong fuses (was blown this morning when I tried the spin cycle again, or it blew at that time)… Now when I put a fuse in it blows right away, sales person gave me ones that say 1a on them, but doesn’t say the 250v like the old fuse said… So back to home depot for different fuses…

What else can I try? Thank you very much for your help!

Have the correct fuse in now… Again, I can put it on the spin cycle and it runs but still will not fill with water… sigh

Well the first and most obvious place to go is the water level switch. Since it will spin it seems more likely that the switch is bad then the timer but you will have to replace it to be sure.

Is there a way to test the water level switch first ~ or do I have to just replace it?

We usually just go ahead and replace them, because it is an easy fix, but you can take it out, blow in the tube and with a meter on the leads see if you get the switch to have continuity.
