Water Dispenser Wont stop after removing cup

Hi, great site here where people can help each other out!

Have an issue where once you dispense the water into a cup and remove it, the water continues flowing for 2-4 seconds after removing glass from push switch. Never used to do this before, only started after I recently replaced filter. Tried removing line and blowing through it. Checked to see if filter was on correct. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

How do you remove that water? Thank you for your reply! After I removed filter I tried pushing in push lever with cup, but only a few drips came out.

Ok that is called a modular design. The head itself can be easily replaced but it cost as much as a cheap one down at Lowes. The trick is you buy the generic one with that type head on it. Then you use your wiring harness from your old one so you can power up the new one. They all come from the same source. And they come without the harness plugged in. So you have the option to use the 3 or 4 they supply or the one that fits your ice box. Clever ain’t it.

If the water valve is good and the mold thermostat is good and the coils beneath the machine are fairly clean so the ice box can get down to 28 F then the small copper plate behind the main drive gear might be dirty from the arcing each time it makes contact at the end of the cycle. If you CAREFULLY remove that main drive gear you can sometimes clean up that copper plate and it will start powering up the water valve once more.
