Water inlet valve

Our water dispenser and icemaker started continually dripping, so I ordered a new water inlet valve (W10408179). Be it arrived, I practiced the procedure by removing the old one, cleaning it, and reinstalling it. Both the water dispenser and ice maker worked, though they still dripped profusely. When the new one arrived, I removed the old one, installed the new one, but got nothing. No water from either water dispenser or ice maker (though I still have some ice to remove from the water line going to icemaker). Flummoxed, I reinstalled the old one, and got nothing as well. I installed the new one again, still nothing. I do get a readout when checking the resistance on the valve. Not sure what the issue is. Water valve is turned on, and fridge is cooling great. I have checked and double checked the wire connections to the valve. Thanks.

When you say that "Water valve is turned on" that you have checked across the door water dispense valve with a meter and you get 120 volts across it when you activated.

Sounds like there may be a problem with the water shut off valve which should be part of the house plumbing.
