Water Inlet Valve

My ice maker works fine, but we are getting no water from the dispenser. It was working fine one second, and 5 minutes later it didn’t work. I ordered a new water inlet valve and installed it, but that did not fix the problem. When I push the lever for the dispenser, I don’t get any click or reaction what so ever. I tried testing the water inlet valve, old and new, with a multimeter. When I checked continuity, I was getting it on the old valve, but only on the ice maker side. On the new valve I am not getting any reading. I am definitely no expert with the multimeter, and was just trying to do a test I had seen on a youtube video about testing the water inlet valve.
