Whirl Pool Dishwasher

the dish washer will fill and drain, heat and everything but the dishes are not being washed. any suggestions:confused:

If the motor is running, you probably have a busted chopper assembly.
Remove the upper spray arm tube by twisting it off and take out the torq screws on the upper pump housing and remove. Remove the half round pump cover and remove the chopper assembly. If clogged up or broken, order it on this parts site together with the check valve located in the bottom of the housing.
Chopper AP3039186, check valve AP3175191 You can click on your model # to see how all the parts are assembled.

while changing the old water pump i used a chisle to beat off the old one. when started the washer back up i heard humming noise and then smelled smoke. I took off the pump and tried to spin the motor spindle and it would turn clockwise about about half a turn than stick. took off the motor and the plastic couplings and rubber were fine. i tried to turn the spindle that the rubber and plastic couplings were attached to ( agitator or transmission spindle) it turned freeley counter clockwise but would only turn about half aturn before sticking or failing to turn anymore. what do I do next?
