Whirlpool dishwasher just quit ????

Can anyone help ?

I have a DU9000XR-5 that came with our home (House built in 1988).

The unit quit last night (nothing happens when you try to start it), and I’m not sure how old the unit is or where to start with it ??

Any help would be much appreciated.

Quick,

Are you sure the breaker didn’t trip open ?

I would start at the junction box on the frame, make sure the connection is

not loose, then check the door latch switch and latch assembly for operation.

There’s not a lot of information on a Dishwasher of this age, but start there

and hopefully, you’ll be up and running soon.

Good Luck,

I know the unit has power (pannel indicators glow), and I dont think the door latch is the issue.

I dont see a mfg date on the unit, is there a way to tell ?

The manufacturers date code is (usually)in the serial number.

First two numbers is the week of manufacture.

Last letter is the year of manufacture.

My date code information only goes back to 1990.

If you have power to the control panel, then I doubt the door switch is the problem.

Now we’re into a loose or broken wire(not likely), bad control switch or timer ?

Good Luck,

My S/N is F91517188
So does this mean my year of mfg would be 1988 ?

If so…im gonna have troulble getting some parts for this thing I bet.
For Example–When I checked on the timer it was discontinued
