Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher Rinse Only Light Blinks

Have a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Parter IV Dishwasher model GU1500XTKQ0
The "Rinse Only" button LED is flashing with "–" on the display.
Opening and then closing results in "2" displaying with the pump running for about 10 seconds before returning to this state.

Attempts to fix to date:

  1. Removed kick plate to get at schematic
  2. Disassembled touch panel and tested buttons successfully per schematic instructions

Any furhter help is appreciated!

I purchased part AP3140072 (8269465), Control panel (white), and installed it. The dishwasher now again washes fine! Unfortunately, now the top two LEDs to the numeric display no longer work. They worked fine in the old part. I tested the connector to ensure the pins have continuity and all do. There must be a break in one of the flexible leads that I cannot see or another issue. I have requested a new replacement part be shipped.
