I had a service man out and he checked the icemaker and it was working and advised that the problem was the dual water valve Part#2188746. I ordered from appliancepartspros and received it quickly and replaced it. I still I am not getting any ice but the water dispenser still works. Any thoughts?
Take a look at this and see if it helps, since I don’t know exactly what the tech did or looked at this should be your best trouble shooting tool.
Hopefull you can pull it up. For some reason I can’t attache the file from my computer.

Ok doesn’t pull up correctly…click on triangl by refrigerators and the icemaker trouble shooting.
He jumped out t-h and said the IM was working and that the problem was the water valve.
Thanks
Ron
When you jump the t-h it bypasses the thermostat in the Im. Does it fill with water and freeze? If so it’s probably the thermostat in the IM.
Nat
No it doesn,t fill
Switch the electrical leads on the water valve and push the water dispenser on the door to see if you get water into the IM. See if the module itself is cycling, but putting a piece of tape on the gear to the base to see if it pulls the tape loose. If you don’t get water in and the unit is cycling then your fill tube is probably frozen.
Nat
the leads to the water valve are module and are different sizes. I also noticed that when I open the freezer door the LED light double flashes constantly and when I push the button for the freezer light the LED goes out and stays out until I release the button, Is this any help.I also blew through the filler tube and it was unobstructed.
That’s ok with the LED.
Try the holding the leads to the valve and have someone else push the dispenser to see if you get water. ;o)
Nat
Thanks Nat I’ll have to wait until I get someone to give me a hand. Just to let you know this is a brand new water valve I installed yesterday.
Ron
Nat,should I still reverse the connections or should I try something else.I really appreciate the help.
Ron
I would reverse the connections just to see if you get any water in the IM. But unitl you get an extra set of hands look at the fill to for the IM and see if it’s frozen or anything. I try the tape on the IM to see if it’s cycling.
Nat
I looked at the fill tube and it is not frozen. I also pushed the light button and pushed the flapper shut and nothing cycles. I just now unplugged it for a minute and tried again and nothing.
Ron
Nat,
I reversed the connectors on the water valve and when the water dispenser was pushed I got water to the Ice Maker
No problem, just too bad you bought a valve you didn’t need yet. Hold onto it, you may later
Nat
That’s very nice of them, most of my suppliers won’t even do that I get get "wholesale" prices…lol
Nat
Nat, Is the ‘bail arm’ also called a ‘pivot arm’? There is no picture of this when I look for parts.
Dawn
No, sorry didn’t actually look at your model before posting. your system has a laser type sensor not a bail arm.
nat
Hope to jump in have a similar problem. model ED5SHAXNQ01
Switched the wires to the valves and got water in the im, does that mean the valve is good and im is bad? The thing that rotates and dumps the ice out seems to work.
thanks
Darren,
Yes, part # AP3135377, you can test with an ohm meter first. Are your emitter lights flashing? If not they could also be the problem (part# AP3137510)
Nat
Keaton,
What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?
