Mark,

I believe your model number is incorrect, is it DU1148xtpba ?

That’s the closest I can get to the number you supplied.

You most likely have a bad keypad / control panel assembly,

[part]AP4310740[/part]

I’m attaching a copy of the diagnostic, service test.

When you program in the diagnostic cycle, if the control does not accept it,

Replace the Control Panel / Key Pad Assembly
(the manufacturer never came up with a touchpad matrix test).

If it does accept the program, let it run the complete test cycle, so you reset the main control board memory(in the panel), provided there are no lights on at the end of the test.

If there are light(s)on, or the test mode stops during the test , you may have to replace the control board.

Good Luck,

Mark,

We’re back to the Key pad / Control panel assembly.

Try this first, disconnect the ribbon from the electronic control board, clean the end of the ribbon with rubbing alcohol, and re-insert it into the connector, tightly.

If you still can’t program or start the machine, replace the part.

Did you ever have a blinking light above one of the selection key pads?

Yes I notice NOW if ipush any of the selection keys the led will light up three times , I too think now it is the touch pad or the conection when I get home I will try to clean it I will let you know what happens THANKS!!!

Hi Joe, I have a Wirlpool DU1145XTPQ7 that doesn’t want to start. When I select Normal the Heated Dry lamp come on automatically, and seem to flicker on and off like it has a short or something for about 2 to 3 mins, and the Start button doesn’t work when I try to start the cycle. Can you help?

Thanks, Young

Young, Like the previous post, you most likely have an issue in the keypad assembly.

AP3774272

You can remove the lower kickplate panel and you should find the "Tech Data Sheet" attached to the back of the panel. You can then test each keypad circuit, with a multimeter, and program into the diagnostics tests, etc. and verify the issue and the proper operation of the dishwasher, and yopu’ll be up and running in no time.
