Whirlpool Refrigerator Freezer Gets Cold But Fridge Does Not

Hi. I’m new to this forum. I noticed this past week that my French door refrigerator wasn’t cooling but my freezer was. I am an engineer with mechanical and electrical knowledge. I took apart a few things to diagnose the problem and noticed that when I plug in the fridge (even from being completely room temp with everything thawed) the compressor comes on but the evaporator fan does not. I removed the wires from the evaporator fan and am getting 111 volts Ac +/-5VAC. I completely removed the fan and connected it straight to a wall outlet and it starts and spins strongly with no problem. I traced the red wire and black wire with red stripe to their corresponding pins on the main circuit board and the voltage here is the same as down below (115VAC or so) where the fan was connected. I was thinking it could be a thermistor problem since I know they are resistance based devices. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong. The voltage is there but I am not sure if any current is getting to the fan. I will put an ammeter in series when I get a chance.
