Last week I installed a “new” Whirlpool DU915PWSB0 dishwasher that had been in a model home and was never used. After I installed it, it ran about 3 times with no problems. Now it is not working and I’m stuck. When I select a cycle and hit start, the tub fills with water. Just as the next phase is starting (about 2 seconds into it), everything stops. After a couple of minutes of nothing, the machine turns itself off. If I hit the cancel/drain button, it makes a sound like it is about to drain, but then it stops, goes quiet, and nothing else happens until it turns itself off. At that point, with the tub full of water, no button will produce any response.

I removed the drain hose from the check valve and removed all of the water. Then I tried to run the machine again and the whole episode repeated itself.

The drain line is not blocked or kinked. The 3 loads it has washed in its lifetime were very lightly soiled, so it is hard to believe that debris is blocking something, and I don’t see anything to indicate something is blocked. Any help or advice is very much appreciated.
