We have an old Whirlpool wash machine; Model : LSC8244E Serial : CF3826754
The problem we have is that when we wash using the cold water, the water fills in " very slow "
but there is no problem when we use the hot water.
The water hose is not bent or leaking. Can you tell me what the problem and how to fix it?
I really appreciate your help.
Thank you
Rostus
Hi. I imagine you need the same part as I do (my post is below yours, right now, in the list). I’m pretty sure I need a new Water Inlet Valve.
I’m NOT an expert, but I’ve read a lot about my washer leaking, and watched a few videos on taking the washer apart and installing the new Inlet Valve.
I think you should first: check that there is good water pressure from the House Supply, and also that the Filter (if any) in the Hose isn’t clogged or damaged.
I think you can do that by unhooking the Cold Fill Hose from the machine (TURN THE WATER OFF FIRST!), put end of the Hose into a bucket, then turn the water back on and see if it flows out okay. Look inside to see if there’s a Filter, and if there is, pull it out and check it. Soak it in vinegar if it’s clogged, or just replace it.
But it’s probably your Inlet Valve. On that, it could be mechanical or electrical. So the Cold side is either clogged somehow, or it’s not getting the electrical signal from the Solenoid to open fully. If you want, you can pull it out and test the continuity of the Solenoid. Then you can check the Filter on the Cold side, too (the Inlet Valve has Filters inside each ‘in’ port). BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!
BTW, most sites I’ve looked at say DON’T try to clean/repair the Inlet Valve–just replace it.
I’m pretty sure this is your Model on this site: https://www.appliancepartspros.com/parts-for-whirlpool-lsc8244eq1.html
You’d want to look at the Controls/Rear Panel section: https://www.appliancepartspros.com/controls-rear-panel-parts-for-whirlpool-lsc8244eq1.html
The Water Inlet Valve is #18 on that Diagram. It’s $23.80 here: https://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-water-inlet-valve-285805-ap3094541.html
Hope this helps, and that I haven’t guided you wrong!
