Whirlpool Washer - Rust on Clothes - How do I repair?

I am getting rust on clothes and it is becoming quite a nuisance. Please advise the best approach in addressing this matter. I am inclined to think the rust is coming from the basket. Thank you. Glewis

I am guessing the rust is from the cabinet, in many cases because of excessive use of bleach that sloshes around and causes rust.

Use this site to take off your cabinet and check it. Note: your console screws are in the back.

I have never seen rust in these plastic tub washers, but I have seen oil. Remove the 7/16 bolt under the agitator cap and pull off the agitator. May find a leaking seal.

Thanks so much.
