Whirlpool washer spins slow

Hi. I’m new to this forum and appliance repair in general. I have a direct drive washer that spins slow. Very slow. Could someone explain to me how and what parts are involved with making a washer spin so I can try to fix it. I don’t want to guess and keep buying parts for it. Any help would be great. Thanks all. Matt

Hi, Matt.

I need a complete washer model number. But generally If the water is drain out completely before spin cycle starts you should be replacing the clutch. With the full model number I’ll get you the part number.

Thank you for the response. The model number is LSW9750PW3.

Hi.

First check if you can manually spin the tub. If it’s spins easily then check the drive block.
If not - replace the clutch.

The drive block AP2905773

Thanks for all the help. I replaced the clutch and it works great. Thanks again

My pleasure.

Hi. I have a whirlpool washer LSQ9010PWS3 that spins normal in the first two or three years, recently, I found the clothing is still wet after the full rinse cycle. I thought it is bad coupler based on the forum, so, I disassembled and found the coupler is good. Then, I follow the repair forum, to take a part the clutch, etc, found it is still good, at least, I don’t see any worn out, on clutch, springs, etc. Could someone explain to me how and what parts I should take a part or check further before I buy parts randomly, greatly appreciated for your help, Thanks and have a wonderful day. David

Hi.

If the washer is draining good and drive block and the spin tube are good, than most likely the problem is bad clutch.
Check the drive block and the spin tube joint at the top under the agitator.
