My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II problems started with the Heavy/Cotton Setting turning on and off quickly during the cycle. I tried all other settings and found that it would wash and rinse correctly only in the Int Low/Low setting and would only fill and rinse in the others. As a side note, the first night this started I punched the face of the control panel next to the timer and the machine started agitating in Perm press which it would not do before.
I think I need a new timer???

thanks, had a loose connection to the agitate level selector and it was stuck on whatever was used last.
