Whirpool - Display not working

Display not working. Show F2 Fault code and E6 Error code. Keypad seems to work, able to turn lights on/off. Other keys beeps but no display.

Tried the recommended repair procedure except replace control. Since the keypad is working does it seem that I would need to replace the control board? If so , what is the part # for URL for my model GBD307PDQ09?
Thanks,
jg

Gene,
I am getting the F2-E1 error code. Replace the control board or control panel?
Thanks,

Gene,
I secured the ribbon back to the board and get the F2-E1 error code. So the question is , which part is at fault and/or should be replaced, the control board or control panel?
Thanks,

Well, before we make any costly decision I would recommend to make sure the ribbon is plugged all the way in.

Gene.

Gene,
The ribbon is all the way in and secured but still get the F2-E1 error code. Perhaps the ribbon is damaged? Funny things was initially the panel keys worked now they don’t. Perhaps the ribbon is damaged? What’s your assessment Board or Panel? Is there a part just for the ribbon?
Thanks,
jg

This is very confusing situation. Based on the first error code I’ll start with the control panel but I can not guarantee that the control board is not faulty too.

Gene.

Gene,
To make things even more confusing, with the ribbon secured in the board, I now get the F2- E6 error and the panel keys are not responsive. Based on this, per you initial suggestions, I should replace the board?
Thanks,
jg

We got back to the very first your post and I believe the first failure suspect is the control panel, not the control board.

Gene.

Gene,
Ok I will replace the control panel.
BTW is there a part only for the ribbon from the control panel?
Also, can you please send me your address to jrg07@yahoo.com I’d like to send my appreciation to your comments.
Thanks,
jg

JG,

The ribbon is a part of the control panel and does not come separate.

Thank you very much! Your words is the best appreciation!

Gene.

Gene,
Good call, just installed the panel all works fine now. I think it was the ribbon
that was damaged due to the curve/hump from the panel to the board causing it to become brittle over time and connecting wires shorted/frayed. Thanks again,
jg

I’m glad you were able to fix it.

Gene.

Gene,
Another problem. Seem all was ok for 1-2 days. Now I get a long beep and no display. I can turn on/off the light via the panel. Could this be the board now? Your thoughts?
Thanks,
jg

Did only the light button respond?

Try to turn off the breakers for a minute.

Gene.

Other button responded but with double beep.

Same things after breaker on/off 1 min. No display.
Thanks,
jg

Gene,
I’ve replaced the control board. Now all the lights are on and the panel keys are responsive (beeping), however, the lights form the board are all on continuously? Do I need to re-set anything? I went to the programming cavity size steps but no change?

Thoughts?
Thanks,
jg
