whirpool washer will agitate but will not spin

MY WHIRPOOL WASHER WILL AGITATE BUT WILL NOT SPIN OR DRAIN WATER. WE HAVE CHANGED THE LID SWITCH TO NO AVAIL. WE HAVE TAKEN THE MOTOR OFF AND THE COUPLING LOOKS FINE. ALSO BY APPEARANCE THE MOTOR LOOKS FINE. COULD IT BE THE STARTER CAPACITOR?? PLEASE HELP :confused:

Hi.

If the motor is humming on spin check the contacts at the motor disconnect plug and wire harness for internal breaks.

The start capacitor should be fine because the washer agitates.
Try to run the motor while it’s not installed.
