Start Motor Relay Test: Disconnected wires from relay. With meter set at Rx1 I tested between the blue and violet wires. Upright read infinity. Upside down read 0 ohms. TEST OK.
Drive Motor Test: Motor spins freely. Disconnected wiring harness. Testing from the White/Violet terminal to:
1) Blue/White = 6 ohms TEST OK
2) Yellow = 6 ohms TEST OK
3) Grey = 6 ohms TEST OK
Drive Motor Test Summary: TEST OK
Thermal Fuse: Disconnected wires from terminal. Tested at Rx1 and got 0 ohms. TEST OK.
Heater Element: Disconnected wires from terminals. Meter at Rx1 should read 25 to 35 ohms. My meter reading was 21 ohms. IS THIS SATISFACTORY?
Fill Valve Test: Disconnected wires from terminals. Tested at Rx1 and got INFINITY OHMS. Chart says should have gotten 700 ohms. IS THIS SATISFACTORY?
Overfill Switch Test: Disconnected wires from terminals. At Rx1 I tested the up and down positions and got perfect readings of an opening and closing switch. TEST OK.
Timer Motor Test: Disconnected Wiring harness from Timer. Disconnected Timer motor wires from terminal block. Meter should read 1800 to 3000 ohms. At Rx1 my reading was 3500 ohms. IS THIS SATISFACTORY?
Timer Test: Disconnected wiring harness. At Rx1 with the red lead on the terminal of the TAN COLOR wire and the other test lead across the other terminals one at a time as I turn the timer and getting proper readings of an opening and closing multi-switch. TEST OK.
Door Switch, Despenser Switch and Multi-Function Switch operating fine.
Based on what you see here I have several questions:
- Will the dishwasher operate if I leave the heater element unpluged to see if the element is bad?
- If the timer motor was bad, wouldn’t the machine still try to do all its different things if I simply turned the timer thru its cycle with the door shut? It does not do anything? No Sounds. No Nothing!
- If the fill valve is bad as it seems, if I attempt to operate the machine with it unplugged would I at least hear sounds of something? I am trying to definitivly find out what is wrong with the machine before I go out and buy enough parts to completely build another machine.
Any suggestions at this stage of the game will be MOST GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED and will probably keep my wife from killing me. Thanks to all and Happy Holidays. Keith (850) 535-9937 www.keithdove.com:eek:
