drum repair on a front load frigidare.

hey folks, i have a frigidare front load 10 cycle heavy duty washer. the top left spring that holds the drum in place broke, ofcourse the two shocks/struts joined the party also. so to replace them? i guess i have to support the drum as close to it normal proximity as possible to start? any shortcuts or known problems i should look for would be appreciated? i plan to replace both springs, and the shocks. also since it is about 7 years old i will replace the drive belt. hands down best washer i have ever owned so i would like to limp it into the future. i notice on the bottom of the strut mount is a nylon pin. how to remove it without damaging it too much?should i replace this also? if so what is it called? i did not see it in the parts list for my washer. is it part of the shock mount kit? as you can tell i have just enough know-how to get me in trouble… so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated… have a great day… ken foell.

To pull out the shock plastic pin, just insert a socket sufficiently small to depress the retaining tab, then pull the pin out.
You can go to web site %url% for info on this.

ok good deal. a small socket makes sense…
