Jenn air JGS8850ADW showing F3-1 error code

Jenn Air oven/range showing error code F3-1 when trying to bake.

Model: JGS8850ADW
Serial: 21296620GL

Research seems to indicate a bad control board or temp sensor.

Help narrowing this down to the correct replacement parts to resolve the error code would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jerid

Here are your parts

Check the sensor with a meter.
See 4, 5 and 22 in the below link.

Check that the wire harness to the sensor is OK.
Check that the connector on the board is OK.

If all OK then odds are that it is the control board.

Thanks denman,
I’ll check and test.

Temp sensor measured 1093 ohms. Wires look fine.

My wife reminded me that on occasion the oven clock would be flashing 12:00 as if the time was never set. And there were no power outages.

Yes that also would point towards a bad control board.

The control board looks expensive so I do not know if I would put those dollars into this unit.
Unless you really like the unit and it is in very good shape.

On thing is that if you get the board from AppliancePartsPros and it does not fix your problem you can return it.
Please see their return policy.

Thanks for the response denman. Yes, the control board is a bit pricey however a new range/oven is not really in my budget at this time… And you know how the story plays out… new oven range leads to a whole kitchen remodel… LOL!!

Being able to return the part is fantastic… I’ll check out the policy.

Thanks again for the help.

Just to doublecheck… This is the "control board" correct?

Yes that is it.

Note that it is always a good idea to check this with the parts representative when ordering.
They know a lot more about parts than I do.

Replacing the control board appears to have fixed the problem. It was pretty straight forward to install except for the ribbon connection from the button panel. Took a bit to figure out that the ribbon had no connector on the end and that the ribbon would slip into the connector on the new board and then be clamped shut.

Thanks for the help on this denman.

You are welcome

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
