Washer goes through entire cycle until sometime in the spin cycle and then show F11 error code. I checked all the connections, wiring, motor turns freely etc. Must be the MCU or CCU unit. How do I test to determine which is the problem?
There is no real definitive test for these, but check to see if power is getting to the MCU in spin mode. If so, the MCU is probably bad.
Here is a service manual for your Whirlpool made machine.
Thanks for the info so far. I ran through a test mode and the washer goes through the entire cycle under test until the last few seconds of the spin part of the test and then shows F11. Any ideas?
Tested the motor and resistance tested ok, so I decided to remove the mcu per your suggestion. I then decided to try the washer with the mcu connected, but laying outside the machine andit went through the whole cycle. Tried it three more times and still ok. I then reinstalled the mcu and it has done five loads of wash with no problem. Sears wanted $129 to come look and then would have probably chared for a new mcu board, but thanks to this forum and your suggestion, the total cost was $0.
Thanks
Paul
That’s fanstastic. I suspect there was some type of connection problem or loose wiring and glad you got it fixed at no cost. That’s what we like to hear, and thanks for the update.
Thanks for these tips. I went through all of the connections and tested the continuity at the motor. The manual says the windings should read 6 ohms for normal and that infinity is abnormal. But I am getting less than 1 ohm, about 0.6-0.7 across pins 1-2, 1-3 and 2-3. What would that indicate? A bad motor?
Thanks!
