I have a Kelvinator refrigerator that is not cooling correctly. They place I purchased it from installed a new compressor about 2 weeks ago and I cant get ahold of them. The freezer works a little I guess. It shows about 38 degrees F. The ice seems solid, so does most of the food. However my ice cream is like soup, and the frozen orange juice on the freezer door is thawed. The fridge section is 48 degrees F and appears to be getting warm now too. I spent all of my money buying this piece of junk now I cant get in touch with the appliance place. Thank you in advance!!!
Here are your parts

I am assuming that the compressor does run re: you can hear it, it vibrates and is warm.
First check that the evaporator fan is running.
If OK
You have to determine if the unit is cycling the compressor.
If yes then the control thermostat comes to the top of the list.
Note: The unit should shut off the compressor and evaporator fan for 30 minutes every 8 hours or so for a defrost cycle.
If the compressor is running constantly, remove the cover in the freezer so you can see the evaporator coils. The unit should have been running for at least a couple hours, you do not want to do this just after a derost cycle.
If there is no frost you have a sealed system problem. Could be a bad compressor, you are out of freon or a plug in the sealed system.
If there is frost in only one area or it is blotchy you are probably low on freon.
If the evaporator coils are heavily iced/frosted over you probably have a defrost problem. Force a defrost cycle to find which component is toast.
Here are a couple good sites to help you troubleshoot.
