My Ge Profile is getting pretty loud on the spin cycle and when its done it seems like it stops spinning a lot quicker then it use to. Is this in the transmission or is it the bearings? Thanks
Sounds like you may have two problem. Take off the front panel by inserting a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and the front near the edge to release the clips that hold it on. You can now operate the machine and listen to the source of the noise.
If it is coming from the transmission area it is likely the brakes or the transmission, which means a new transmission unit, and combined with what may be a control unit problem suggests it may be time for a new washer. These particular GE models are just not very good.
