washer will fill and agitate on all cycles, will not pump or spin. The timer advances through the agitate cycles then stops. tHIS HAPPENS ON ALL WASH SETTINGS (NORMAL, PERM PRESS…) Ii AM A MARINE MECHANICH SO PRETTY FAMILIAR WITH BASIC WIRING. I have bypassed the lid switch and the water level switch, still same issues. from the schematic I have and observation of the motor it looks to me like the agitate cycle runs the motor in one direction, then pump and spin run the motor in the opposite direction, am i correct? If so the only other things I can see are the timer or the centrifugal switch or the capacitor. I found the capacitor easily enough but do not know what to test for? where is the centrifugal switch and how would i CHECK THAT? LASTLY, IF IT IS THE TIMER, HOW DO YOU test it or REMOVE IT?
Any help is greatly appreciated and sorry for the caps(caps lock in a bad place) If anyone has any small boat questions I would be happy to help!!!

You are correct in that the motor turns counter clockwise in agitate mode and clockwise in spin mode. This also turns the pump, so if the machine is not pumping out then your motor is not operating once the agitation cycle is ended.
I doubt if the capacitor is the issue, since the machine does work in agitate cycle, and the capacitor very rarely fails. (I mean, its just a capacitor).
I would take the cabinet off, this site will tell you how and take off the pump and check for any obstruction that is preventing the pump from turning, since this would also prevent the motor from turning and the machine from going into spin cycle.

I know you said you by-passed the lid switch, but your symptoms sound exactly like a lid switch failure. I suggest you try that again. Insert a solid, insulated wire in the outer holes on the connector part coming from the console like it says in the above site. Put the machine in spin and see what happens.
If this does not start it spinning, use a test meter to see if you have 120v coming to the motor. If not, the timer is likely the problem.
Good luck, let us know what you find out.
Thank you for the help, I double checked the lid switch and the pump, both OK. I determined, as you did , the timer was the culprit. I sprayed it with some electrical contact cleaner and it seems to be working now, But I fear that is a temperary fix. How do you remove the timer itself, By looking at a pic of the replacement timer I think the knob spins off counterclockwise, but I see no mounting screws or tabs behind the panel .
Remove the timer knob and pry off the indicator . Remove the timer screws and the timer. Remove the metal cover from the timer, put back the timer knob and rotate the timer. If you see any burnt spots this would confirm a bad timer. Just call this parts site to order.
