Washer will not continue to next cycle.

We had a storm over the weekend where we may have had a lightning strike. Since then the washer works fine except that it won’t move from cycle to cycle without being changed manually. I believethat changing the timer knob will fix this. What do you suggest?

I don’t think replacing the timer knob will solve the situation.

Sounds more like an electrical or mechanical failure in the timer itself.

You can test the voltage into/ out of the timer motor to varify.

with the unit plugged in and the lid down/closed.

select the final spin/drain and start the machine.

With a multimeter check for 120 VAC at the tan wire labeled TM on the wire insertion side of the multi plug to chassis ground.

Also check TM white at the multiplug for 120 VAC.

No VAC into TM tan, bad timer contact

No VAC into TM white, bad timer motor.

120 VAC at both test points, mechanical failure in timer.

I’m 99% sure you’ll need a new timer,
