will not fill at start of cycle

Hello all. I have 20 something Maytag A482 top load washing machine. It has had the water control valve replaced last year and worked great until recently. It will not fill when the cycle knob is rotated to the start position. It does fill when the knob is moved to the rinse position and it spins as well as drains, however it will not agitate. When I pulled the control panel off, there was a grey wire that was not connected to the timer. I reconnected it and there was no change. It worked great up until recently and cant think of a reason why the wire was disconnected.

The temp switch seems to be working ok. What voltage should be going to the valve? Is there a wiring diagram for the timer?

Checked the timer iaw the previous post and it seems to be ok. The level valve seems to be working.

Kelly,
What about the 120 VAC to each of the fill valve solenoids when warm water wash fill is selected ?

When the timer is moved to the rinse position, there is 115vac is present. When the knob is placed at the beginning of the cycle, there is no voltage present at the valve.

Kelly,
The issue has to be in the timer,
The circuits in the fill increment re routes the voltage to the water temperature switch in order to make a hot, warm, or cold fill cycle. At the rinse cycle the timer bypasses the temperature switch and feeds the voltage to the cold water solenoid.

I took the timer apart and there were no broken or excessively worn parts. I reassembled the timer, hooked it up and it filled and agitated. I stopped it mid cycle to verify that would function correctly. When I restarted it, I could hear the timer motor running and a hum from the drive motor. It wasn’t a loud hum, seemed like it was trying to run but couldn’t. I also smelled an odor similar to an overloaded motor. This lasted for couple of mins and then the thermal switch activated. Could there be an issue with the transmission as well?

Kelly,

It still sounds like a bad timer, or connection in the wire harness. The transmission is the least likely of your issues.

temperature on digital display keeps changing Mostly freezer I just recently tried pushing the turbo cool feature & had to force it to stop

The cancel light just flashes on our Maytag MDB7759AWW0 all I can do is hit it again and drain (no water) I can’t select any other function on the control panel. Does this sound like a control board issue? This happened about a year ago and then a day later it worked fine but this time it won’t work at all and it’s been four days.

We have a bosch wfk2401uc front load washer. We just ordered and replaced the boot seal. Other than the machine leaking from the seal, it worked fine. When the machine was all back together, we tried to start a load. All lights come on appropriately, including the "Wash" light that signals the cycle is starting, but the water doesn’t start rushing in.

Yes, we checked that there is indeed water supply to the washer

I didn’t have to mess with any electrical parts except a plug to power the door lock. The door still locks, and reports the appropriate error code if not closed. So I don’t think that is the problem.

Water dispenser first failed. Water line is not frozen (tested blowing into it). Then after a time, ice maker stopped working. Water line is not frozen (tested blowing in) Tried testing water valve Part No: W10408179 continuity. Got continuity in the red solenoide but not in the green solenoide. Thought it was bad, oordered this part, but received new part has the same condition. Is the new part oroken as well, or should be continuity only in the red solenoide? Would appreciate any help. Thanks
