Frididaire washer will not spin

Washer will not spin. The drum turns around in normal wash/rinse mode but will not spin the clothes. Tried one item and several items. Tried various modes, various spin settings (high, medium, low). I hear the drain pump running when it should, but the tub does not move when it should be spinning.

I went through the diag tests and the machine does indeed spin in the test(s) that it should.

The last click of the knob displays the last error code.

Just so I am sure

The entire row of status lights AND the start light blink together 4 times, then the start light blinks on its own 3 more times. I am reading this as E43. Control board error.

Anything to try or replace control board?

Apparently diag. mode bypasses the door switch when it goes into SPIN mode. So the problem could be the door switch since it goes into SPIN in diag. mode but not during a normal wash. Unfortunately with a new door switch one needs a new harness since the switch is redesigned and also a new striker plate. So $60 in parts quickly turns to $200 in parts. I am wondering if I could make the old harness work with some crimp-on electrical connectors.

When I look at Sears Parts Direct there is no mention of a harness or striker plate required.

When reading the second digit of the error code one needs to count the total number of times the START light blinks. The issue is at first the last row of lights (on right) blinks along with the START light. Then the START light blinks on its own. I was counting only the number of times the START light blinks on its own rather than total. I realized this, but felt it was probably the number of times it blinked on its own. Wrong. Its total.

Anyway, the error code is really E47 which is the resistance of the door lock assembly.

While I am figuring things out, I am washing my clothes in a normal cycle and spinning them using a diag. mode spin. It does work.
