Hi. I’ve read through the forums here and elsewhere. My Whirlpool LSR7223BW0 washing machine has difficulty making it through the entire cycle. It stops and starts and often times out leaving murky water or very wet clothes when stuttering through the spin cycle. It starts and stops repeatedly. It will, however do fine if I hold the timer knob off to the side just right. I can lightly jam a small screwdriver in the space between the knob and the console to apply the pressure needed to get through the complete cycle, however this is becoming less effective and I have had to stand there most recently holding the timer knob off to one side to get my laundry done.
I have the console up and the timer removed and cannot find any noticeable wear or tear on the timer. I would try to test the continuity on the lid switch but I don’t have an ohm meter. Because I can get through a wash while holding the timer knob, I suspect it is not the lid switch.
Is there a definitive way to single out the timer for replacement?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards.
